Do I order it online or wait to see if Best Buy has it on sale Tuesday? This will be the first DVD I've bought since April.
I've never watched it...

I plan on watching it on BBC tomorrow, but I was hoping someone can give me a heads up as to what it's about, and what can I expect when I watch it?
Am I going to buy this?

I liked shaun of the dead ok. I don't laugh out loud at much of it, but it was ok. Hot Fuzz was really not funny. Is Spaced more of the same? I like British comedy - was on the bandwagon of "the office" way early, love extras. Should I buy it or skip it?

SOTD was great and Hot Fuzz was good but not very funny. SOTD was a spin on the zombie genre, Hot Fuzz was a spin on rubbish British TV cop shows, namely Heartbeat.

Spaced is an entirely different kettle of fish. If you liked SOTD then you will probably love it.

I hate reality shows. Don't watch em. But I'm tired of Harry and company pushing this obscure British comedy on everybody. As to nobody giving a shit - take a look at the number of responses here. Compared to most topics - nobody gives a shit.

If you don't give a shit and don't want to check it out, move along.

Because Edgar Wright and Simon Pegg are not obscure, and the DVD release will make the show not obscure.

As for no one giving a shit, there was a HUGE fan uproar over McG's attempted American retooling of this (and HUGE talkbacks on this site), which led to them abandoning the project mid-development. So, lots of people give a shit.

But unless you see it, your opinion will not change, so I don't give a shit.

It was a blast when it first came out, but it hasn't held up very well over the years.

What the fuck are you talking about?! Looks dated? You mean in terms of the fashion and stuff? Fact is, it's still hilarious no matter how many times you watch it. Plus they refer to lots of things from the 70's and 80's (Bagpuss, Kia-Ora advert, etc) which means it'll always be amusing to people who remember those times. And A G, it's not happening in Britain because it's been out on DVD over there forever, so what would be the point? Not that I'm against Spaced marathons being shown in *ANY* country, it should be the law. And JuanSanchez, you need to fuck off and whine somewhere else. Moaning little bitches like you need to get a grip. It's Harry's site, Harry loves the show (as he rightly should) and he wants to celebrate the Region 1 DVD release on his site. If you don't like it, then piss off. Anybody else want to come on here and complain like a tart?

Make up your mind about Hot Fuzz mate. Was it 'decent but not that funny'? Or did it 'suck hugely'? Seems to me like you're backtracking. And seriously, if all the 'Spaced talk' is making you crazy, how come you've posted three times on this Talkback already?

Shaun of the dead was spaced with Zombies. First episodes are usually a bit dull try the rest of the series and then judge it
I love it when they take the bait...

And by the way, that was an excellent explanation for why you backtracked. Now cue the cry of 'Ah haaaa, so you *admit* you're an asshole by replying!'. Now, I'm off to suck a massive dick and think about how unfunny Spaced truly is.

Spaced is great. XFiles and Star Wars references galore. Hot Fuzz was kind of mediocre (while SOTD was one of the funniest romantic comedy with zombies I've ever seen).

I only got round to watching Spaced last year(on youtube,it was part of my Spaced,Darkplace,Lerner catch up marathon),although I enjoyed it a lot I wish that I'd seen it when it was first shown as I felt quite alienated towards certain genre entertainment at the time and it would of provided the reassurance that I needed,a fine series, good luck to them all, they earned their stripes :).Never go back.......

It was fun for it's time, but it's time has passed. The US DVD sales will BOMB. This should have been available in America 5 years ago, when it was relevant.
Thought about buying the DVDs

There WAS one in Britain. Spaced Day at the NFT on the Southbank a few months ago. All the cast (even Colin!) and Edgar were there. We watched both series in a row and there were on stage interviews (that apparently are extras on this DVD). They aren't sellouts.
Any update on the music for the R1 set?

I'd love a spiffy new release, but if BBC Video have fucked with the music, I'll stick with my bootlegs, thanks.
