Whilst watching this just-released trailer for Robert B. Weide's HOW TO LOSE FRIENDS & ALIENATE PEOPLE, I decided that, yes, I'd very much like a remake of THUNDERBOLT & LIGHTFOOT with Jeff Bridges assuming Eastwood's part and Simon Pegg jumping into the young turk role made famous by Bridges three decades ago. One stipulation: Michael Cimino must direct. Single file, financiers! Single file!

For now, we'll have to settle for Bridges playing Pegg's Graydon Carter-esque boss in this adaptation of Toby Young's bestselling memoir, which documents the Brit writer's failed stint as an editor at VANITY FAIR. Seeing as how the book has been described as the guy version of THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA (which, as a film, grossed $326 million worldwide), I'm not surprised to find the trailer shamelessly emulating its counterpart's glossy, life-amongst-the-glitterati energy. Hopefully, the finished product will be just as much guilty fun.
