Period.
THAT LOOKS FUCKING AMAZING.
... ecstatic, though my mental state is slightly altered by the addoral I've taken so I can stay awake and finish my final paper of grad school. I still have goosebumps and I saw this an hour ago.
Heath Ledger will be awesome as the joker.
Jesus Christ... I can't believe how bad ass that looks. Ledger NAILED The Joker. Ledger IS The Joker. God damn... Jack Nicholson looks like a fucking clown compared to him. No pun intended.
I'm literally having spasms of excitement right now after watching that. Words fail me to describe how awesome that looks.
Though that's not hard to do.
So far, so good.
Oscar for the Joker?
That's gonna be fucking awesome. I cannot fucking wait.
that was great
gotta see it on the big screen
This is gonna rock. Every misgiving I had about Heath Ledger as the Joker has been shattered.
The burning cards, don't they look like the same ones as were in that teaser leaked on youtube that was quickly claimed to be fake?
I couldn't resist the joke...
I will download it in 1080 High Definition and masturbate to it six hundred and sixty six times in a row. And I will not clean up after each consecutive orgasm. It's going to get messy. Damn you Michael Bay.
that was better than disco dolls in 3D
w00t!!!
He's got the laugh down. I mean, perfectly...
Just as I thought: have faith in Nolan's casting, and the actors in question will surprise you.
Oh and yes a trailer usually misleads the audience, especially nowadays. I expect the film to have maybe half the coolness of the trailer as usual.
Nolan delivers again, this good be the best Batman so far. So when do we get the QT trailer?
Otherwise, this is the BEST FUCKIN thing I've ever seen. Love that joker.
I have to agree with Harry about the captured audience adding to the thrill of bootleg trailers. The Comic Con audience's reaction to the bootleg iron man gave me additional chills. The crowd erupted in cheers and applause when the Mach I suit first broke on the screen, the same for the Mach III. When the official trailer was eventually posted in QT, it felt like it was missing something after having watched the bootleg version repeated for a month.
... in the trailer when Heath Ledger is facing down Batman on his bike and he says "Hit Me!" it sounds sort of like Jack Nicholson's Joker when he is flying away in his helicopter towards the end of '89 Batman and says something like "Hey, Junior Birdman!" or something. It sounds like the same accent. I don't know how to place which accent it is though.

Come To Me, HahaHahaHaha, Come on....
this is gonna be so epic! you can already tell their setting the cards down to make the joker a headcase for batman, how he just stands their as bats moves in on his "batpod" (which, after seeing in action is really, really cool) he just doesnt move, and batman just coasts around him, awesome. this is gonna be the best sequel since spider-man 2
could've been something I dropped outta' my ass last night after a long bout of eating cauliflower and black bean salads, the voice is perfect. Now if they just hadn't fucked up the look with the suck your dick for a dollar crack whore Joker.
July 08 cant come quick enough!!
oh that was gooood
but only by a cunt hair over this.
"The Dark Knight". Not "Batman: The Dark Knight" (which still would've been a good title). Just "The Dark Knight". Amazing. I can't believe there's going to be a Batman movie without the word Batman in the title. We've come a long way.
I have had tiny doubts about the look/handling of the joker but hearing the voice and seeing him in a little bit of action has blown them away. This is edging out Indy as my number 1 must see for 2008. Of course, that could change if we get a piss your pants Indy trailer or if William Shatner was actually going to be in Trek, but that's another story!

Schumacher is gone. Long live Nolan!
Man, I'm pumped. And the Batman theme sounds amazing. And man, is this Joker incarnation fucking creepy.
Featuring Tyler Mane as Batman and Joe Don Baker as Mr Freeze. Takes place in a little shack somewhere on the Appalachian Mountains in the middle of Winter, where Batman has gone to hide away from his abusive stepfather/uncle, Mr Freeze. Numerous buggerings ensue. Soundtrack by Sigue Sigue Sputnik.
Grow some balls, stand by your convictions, and stop throwing red meat at the talkbackers. With that said, it's safe to say Donner's Superman is to be dethroned come July.
Looks as expected - Amazing!
Give Nolan ANY gig! He surpasses himself with every new project and somehow manages to film the impossible.
Moany twatbackers will never be completely happy with anything though so the day an entire Talkback posts 100% positive on something is about as likely as finding a golden unicorn pube!
Somebody already DID get it right for you. Here is your Batman right here buddy. http://www.imdb.com/title /tt0060153/ --- Enjoy that movie while the rest of us enjoy Nolan's new masterpiece.
and I got more semen than the fifth fleet!!!! Holy even in crap-o-vision thats was fucking awesome. Love Ledgers Joker Voice - a lot dofferent thaN I thought (mind you, I heard his rambling Brokeback Hilbilly speech and kind of thought he would do Joker like that - I THOUGHT WRONG) Cant wait for next year
I was pretty skeptical about Heath Ledger as The Joker, but now that I see what they're going for, I kinda dig it. It's still not THE JOKER, you know what I'm saying? I think the animated series still nailed him best, but this is a damn interesting take. Looks like the darkest Batman yet. Now I just hope they nail Two-Face so I can forget that god awful Batman Forever shit.
I love PHANTOM MENACE - however, that is not the popular opinion. It seems that most folks didn't enjoy it. And some even claim that episodes 2 and 3 were worse. Crackheads.
Revenge of the Sith owned Begins ass. Crystal Skull will do likewise to Knight. I forgive the creator for Menace, Clones, Ewoks. Only Cameron can top Lucas/Spiels. Box office predictions: Indy IV- 400 mil domestic, billion worldwide. Begins 2- 275 mil in N.A., 520 mil globally.
YOU JOYLESS CUNTS....
TDK will fucking own. You're just too scared to join the 'mindless' flock and embrace it.
That was incredible!! This will be, without question, one of the best films of next year. INDY 4 has A LOT to live up to.
Because Lucas stopped putting jar jar in every scene. Every scene without him in phantom menace is delicious chocolate coated pussy I'd say. Still written and directed by lucas but not annoying as hell. What a shame...
I absolutely LOVE the Jones' flicks, but no one outside the geek community wants or cares about a sequel. Harrison Ford is no longer Box Office gold. neither is spielberg.
These are horrible truths to face, but they are true none the less.
Both of these movies are underrated, actually. Yes, Schumacher did work on Batman Forever, but Tim Burton actually helped produce it. Burton didn't have ANYTHING to do with Batman & Robin. A lot of people tend to lump Batman Forever and Batman & Robin together, as if they are both equally as bad as eachother. But Batman Forever is 100 times better than Batman & Robin if you would actually watch it again and pay attention to it, they got a lot of shit right in it. I loved Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones, and especially Revenge of the Sith, so you cock suckers can blow me and I'll shoot a fat wad in your mouth for that one. Fucking Lucas-haters, you need to STFU. And darthbinks1220... dude, wtf, are you some kind of fucking clairvoyant or some shit dude??? Get the fuck outta here with that portentous bullshit man.
I don't understand why people always tout that one upcoming movie will own all the other eagerly anticipated ones. I'm looking forward to next year for TDK, Iron Man, Indiana Jones, 007, Hulk, etc. I hope they're all good and I'm glad that movies I want to see are being made.
He has wayyyy to much young teen girl appeal. It loathes me to say this but he will save the movie at the box office.

We see Batman, the Joker, hear him say some bad puns about laughing (Yes, we got, he is an evil joker, that's why he has to say stuff like "Why so serious" before he kills someone) and got LOTS OF EXPLOSIONS!
Sorry, but while the trailer for "Batman Begins" really built up some excitement, this one makes it look like, well..."Die Hard 4.0"! No atmosphere, no suspense, just actionshots.
Maybe the movie will be better but the trailer looks mediocre.

you reminded me about Shia.
I still don't know.
Looks just like I thought it would: fucking brilliant.
... yes it is true. Harrison Ford and Spielberg may no longer have the box-office magic they once had, but that doesn't fucking matter when it comes to Indiana mother fucking Jones, you idiots. You are talking about one of the most beloved cinema icons in the history of the silver screen. It wouldn't matter if Harry Connick Jr. was playing Indiana Jones and Jaleel White was playing his son, every mother fucker over 15 will be crawling out of their parents' crusty smelly ass basement to slap down their 13 bucks to see some fucking Indy action again. Nuff said.
I'm sure we'll get a full length trailer at some point.
back when I was 10. the movie is shit. wake up.
it may be possible that more than one film 'owns' next year. This obsession with one film being the best and pissing on others is an unpleasant side product of capitalism and it's horrible desire to get everybody and everything competing against each other 24/7 rather than co-operating, smiling at each other at regular intervals, and living in harmony. We do not have that problem here in the Peoples Republic of The United Kingdom because we are now all communists. Since Mr Blair left anyway. Heh. Trailer fking rocks!
But it feels like torture to have even a crappy bootleg dangling before me. I'm dying to see it! I feel like I've been waiting forever for this movie. Nice to see more DARK KNIGHT enthusiasm on AICN. This film will be huge.
... you sound like the perfect candidate for ATONEMENT. Grab your girlfriend and a box of tissues and get yer butt to the movie theatre! Because THE DARK KNIGHT is NOT for you, sir! I will direct you to the same place I directed mask-a-tron earlier: http://www.imdb.com/title /tt0060153/ ---- ENJOY!
I don´t want to be disappointed.
I know is a shitty movie, but a shitty movie with Darth Maul and Sebulba in.
... so then by that rational, every single movie that you watched and loved at age 10 is now a complete piece of shit failure? You might want to rethink that. I saw some fucking awesome movies when I was 10-years-old that I still cherish to this day. Sorry but I disagree with you, and I still like Batman Forever. It's not my favorite Batman movie, but I like it.
This is looking to be absolutely awsome. heath's Joker just made me shit myself.
After a nineteen-year absense, a much anticpated Indy Jones flick will fail to gross say, National Treasure/Croft: Tomb Raider money?! Rhiiiiight. Indy 4 will sandwich between At World's End(1.060 bil) and Dead Man's Chest(960 bil) for something like 7th all-time unadjusted at the worldwide box office. Trust me. As for the gungians, Jake Lloyd, gay podracing, bad acting, stunted dialogue, crappy cgi, etc------ I concur with Pipple on Episodes I & II. On the other hand, Sith is the shit. The acting is great. The effects are awesome. The story is gripping. I love Hayden Christensen, and Palpatine. I applaud evil thanx to Episode III. The force will live forever.
what a fool I was.
now THAT's the spirit. That is what I like to hear from my fellow talk-backers. Most of the goons on here seem to enjoy excoriating Nolan's work when he is the savior of the Batman films. Schumacher was like Satan and Nolan is like Jesus, he just came along and saved everyone from ultimate embarassment.
... once again, your rational fails you. Apparently you don't recall, but in Batman Begins, Nolan had an explicit shot of Bale's ass in his bat suit as well, so that wasn't just a Schumacher thing.

The Dark Knight still should be awfully good. The X2 to the first's X-Men. Same formula just amped up quite a bit.
I was too busy looking at katie holmes nipples to notice I guess
... and you WEREN'T busy looking at Nicole Kidman's nipples during the nightgown scene!??! And just for the fucking record... on a scale of 1-10 Katie Holmes is like MAYBE a 7, tops. And Nicole Kidman, even as old as she is now, is a fucking 9.5, but easily a 10 in 1996 when Batman Forever was released.
to me, this is the one and only batman http://youtube.com/ watch?v=x3VW7Jlv1Zs
... Nicole Kidman is STILL a 10 to this day. I realized that after I just googled her. God damn... what a beautiful woman. I didn't know God could create such things.
...but the trailer was lame. (And thank you That 70's Venom, but I got THAT Batman on DVD too. It's standing next to my 'Begins' DVD.)
"ndy 4 will sandwich between At World's End(1.060 bil) and Dead Man's Chest(960 bil) for something like 7th all-time unadjusted at the worldwide box office."
DON´T BE ELLIS!
If you can't see past your own fuckless egos and recognise that this trailer own the air that you breathe, then I wash my hands of you. THE DARK KNIGHT is now my most anticipated movie if 2008, and if you don't agree, then go f**k yourselves.
I liked forever for its cool parts, even batman and robin isn't as bad as it's made to seem online, no movie is. Out in the real world people have work or school that drains them and then go watch a movie to escape life for a few hours, not criticize it... That said in hindisight a lot of what I liked is absolute dreck and forever doesn't hold up over time... that's what happens when movies age, time changes... as penguin said "things change..."
when i try to play a YouTube video ot quits loading after 15 seconds like its done and won't allow me to go further?
Forever was all style, and no substance. Menace had Maul, Watto, and little else. Portentous is an impressive word. Been watching "Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?", have you? lol ;)
... you refer to a teaser trailer for an action movie as lame because it shows a bunch of action shots??? What kind of sense does that make?? For one thing, Batman movies are ACTION movies, so comparing it to Die Hard is actually a logical thing to do, so I don't know if you meant that as an insult or what. Besides, the Die Hard movies are very well done. Not only that, but this IS a teaser trailer, not the full trailer. So if it's atmosphere you're looking for, expect that to be in the full trailer. Teasers are supposed to be flashy and action-packed, not drawn-out with beefy ambience like full trailers.
don't be recondite. lol
1) the city is on lockdown? 2) people are afraid to be out? 3) the plot point that people are evacuating the city has already occurred, and they're getting the hell out of Gotham

...because it makes the sequel to BATMAN BEGINS look like every other actionmovie in the world! Like I said: The teaser for BEGINS was all that! I watched it over and over at work because it kept me excited! This one shows Batman on a motorcycle and some explosions.
... speaking of Riggs and Murtaugh... cue the ironic dialogue and the That's-Just-The-Way-It-Is jazz background soundtrack. No but seriously, you guys are disappointed in a TEASER trailer. At least wait for the full trailer before you start knocking it.
Nah, I understand the trailer is designed to pimp the enmity between the Joker and Batman. But kinda strange that not one shot of Harvey Dent flashed. Unless I missed it, or unless they're holding him off til the next trailer, or unless it's way too early in the morning to be reasoning with myself...

when is this gonna be online for real?
...to bore us with stuff we already have seen in other movies.
... ok that is a good point to an extent, but I don't know about you but I have never seen a live-action Joker walking down a dark street with an evil grin on his face firing an automatic weapon. How any die-hard Batman fan cannot be titillated by such imagery is beyond me, honestly. Would you at least wait until you can see it in Quiktime?
You dont HAVE a Batman. You are a john. WB and DC are the pimps. Bitch.
... who the fuck are you talking to?
I saw the trailer tonight in front of I Am Legend and I thought it looked pretty cool. There's no doubt Nolan will deliver the goods again. Here's the thing. Warner's marketing dept. is going a little overboard with this Joker thing. The movie is called The Dark Knight. It's about Batman. Enough with the Joker. We get it. Save him as a little bit of a surprise. They're just giving away too much too soon with regard to that character. He seems to be dominating the marketing campaign and the film isn't even out for six months. The Jumper trailer I saw tonight possibly kicked even more ass than the one for TDK (who thought a Hayden Christensen movie would ever look good?) but it too, gave away far too much. The reason Cloverfield got so much hype was because it came out of nowhere and kept things mysterious. Now they've overplayed their hand with this five minute clip. Same goes for a lot of Apatow's work. The week a movie opens you're bombarded with viral videos and leaked 'outtakes' and maybe the overexposure helps raise the box office take a few million but there are some instances where it just seems to be a little much. I just think that studio marketing depts have taken the surprise out of movies these days, but I suppose they're just doing their jobs, and that's just like, my opinion, man, so...
...just WOW.This looks amazing.Plus it looks a lot more colourfull than the first film. I'm also 100% sold on Heath Ledger now.
and make it available online.
man o man o man o man o man o man.
...Are you unable to read the headline? I thought it was quite clear that I was addressing you. Are you retarded as well as being delusional?
If you hate this film then you hate freedom!!
But the Jokers the Villian. Unless TwoFace gets some serious action. The film opens with Joker. So I don't get why some of you people piss'n and moan about the advertisements being to Jokery. Joker will sell the flick. We know batman tale already- now he's laurie strode. Bring on the boogeyman- We came to see him get his ass handed back to him. Keep on Jokin forward!
Pretty damn satisfactory IMHO.
Seriously, that voice he's putting on I just didn't buy at all, it just sounded way too...deliberate. He nailed the laugh though. Oddly, this is pretty much opposite of what I anticipated (good Joker voice, bad laugh) so shows how much I know.
All that aside, really pumped for this, and the teaser, or what I could see of it anyway, looked great. If it wasn't for a certain hat wearing, whip snapping generically surnamed fella's latest adventure, this would be my number one most anticipated movie next year. As it stands it's second in line, but damn if I aint hanging out for it all the same.
how many will see I am legend, purely to get a good look at this. I'm one of em.
This looks seriously killer.
...that looks like Nolan has nailed it again! Fuck Spidey, there's only one hero in town! Roll on 2008...
That was fantastic!
haters......you are seriously reaching if you think that looks bad. if it aint your thing i can dig it but to say that looks bad ..what more do you want?? it looks amazing
i hope you are kidding...as close a sure thing as you could ever get. it will be huge.and you know it.
and I'm a naysayer for Heath Ledger's Joker.
I still have it and I think I'm the only one who has it posted at Youtube. Keep in mind that this was the first time human eyes had gazed at any footage from a new SW movie in 16 years, other than Lucas and his staff of course. I cried like a blithering baby when I first saw this at 4:30am in the morning. I was right there with the audience. Yet I was actually in my underwear in my bedroom and after waiting 5hrs to download it on my 56k modem. Ah to have hopes and dreams, only to see them get smashed when I saw the whole film. Relive the magic - http://tinyurl.com/yn9pqs
... that's never happened with a cam trailer before. Ledger looks awesome. Bale looks awesome. Everything looks perfect, so far.
I wouldn't want to wake up to THAT in the morning...
Void the eyes with lenses, cover the mouth over with a breathable black mesh http://tinyurl.com/ytva24
of course I say that every year and I'm disappointed every year as well. Please, don't let me down. If all goes well the summer of 2008 will make 1982 look like 1998.
Amen Brother Saxon, Amen!
I felt like a kid again. Nothing has made me this excited about a film before. Ledgers laugh is absolutely incredible.
Fans have already proven they can be made decent with some cuts here and there etc.
I agree with that-I dont get the five minute clip things...and that DK should be about Batman predominantly (although Nolan insists it still is, and afterall in ther trailer Mr. J is talking about Batman-not himself). But I have no problem with that trailer....I just hope it gets all the nay sayers to shut up now. I mean that laugh....mu back started to spasm when I heard it...its just...so....fucking....GOOOOD!
dont want to sound like a caveman.
But I can't see enough of it to really appreciate it's undoubted badassery. Quicktime version NOW fammit!!
It looks fucktastically great.
... in the way that a blowjob from Jessica Alba sucks. How can someone be turned off much less unimpressed by that.
That's how you interpret the source material into film! Minor detail glitches are generally forgiven by fans, for example the Batman could lose those puffy cheeks on his helm, but if the tone and overall quality are excellent, you will win them over.
I always lose enthusiasm for the movie, not because they suck, but because I know there will be a small segment of the film I'll be bored with because I saw it yesterday. These people should copy Wes Anderson and make an accompanying short film. That would get people in the seats and not ruin ten minutes of the film.
... I'd probably have sex with Heath Ledger, just so I could say that I fucked Mr. J. Okay, so I'm probably gay.
In the last 20 years there have been five Batman movies, with Batman (nipples notwithstanding) looking pretty much the same. What is a trailer featuring mostly Batman going to offer anyone? Plus, I think they're also still trying to make sure everyone is aware that this is a new Bat-verse, different from Burton and that other guy.
So even though keeping the Joker under wraps would have made for a better movie experience, for the suits it's not a good marketing decision.
If Jaws was made today, the trailer would include the scene where the shark sinks the boat. We have to live with that.
That was breath-taking! If you found, some reason, to not like it then please kill yourselves now, because you're incapable of expressing a human emotion.
... it's good to see that I'm not the only person on the TB who thinks in terms of not only cinematic creativity but also in terms of Hollywood business. Believe it or not, I ran into some ultimate fucking retard the other day who said "I wonder how Bruce Wayne got younger in between Batman & Robin and Batman Begins." I wanted to punch his fucking teeth out and drown him in a toilet.
None at all. Except for the fact that the Joker is firing what looks like a minigun at Batman. And Batman ISN'T shooting at Joker (and missing horribly, by the way. Didn't Batman realize that by swaying just a tiny bit to the right or the left while shooting at the Joker that he would have tore his shit up?) I think this film will show the difference between the two (Batman vs. TDK and Batman vs. The Joker): Batman won't kill him. In the end, he'll bring him to Arkham Asylum. That's why he doesn't run him down or shoot his ass. You heard it here first.
WHY AM I DEFENDING A MOVIE IN THE TALKBACKS?! What the fuck is wrong with me, I must be tired...
Need a much better example than The Phantom Menace, that's an example of how a trailer can be totally misleading. That said... the joker footage looks really damned good, I really didn't expect that from Ledger, he sounds like the Joker!
Looks like Ledger's Joker would make Nicholson his bitch! (and I don't necessarily mean that in a Brokeback Mountain way)
Joker is Michael Audrey Myers. Deal with it!!!! Who cares about Laurie Strode. You know she will survive the terror, but what will be left. Let this bat bitch double up on his homework. He's still gonna lose some friends to the boogeyman, and he's still not gonna get laid!
The "WHERE IS HE?" line was Bauer all the way. Too bad he's too incarcerated to sue.
Fawst knows what he is talking about. I like how he drew the parallel between '89 and TDK because that's exactly what I interpreted when I saw the trailer. If you want to get technical though, in '89 Burton, Bats didn't so much kill The Joker as precipitate his demise. Furthermore, yeah I know it was unrealistic how Bats' missiles and bullets were totally off the mark when he was firing at Joker, but it made for nice dramatic effect when it showed the Joker just standing there mockingly grinning at Batman and not getting a scratch on him and then pulling out that hilarious pistol and BOOM down goes Batsy.
like they did for Tim Burton's Batman as the internet and fanboy sites like AICN weren't in the picture then. Ces't le vie.
It is simply an awesome trailer. I don't think Heath Ledger is chaneling Nicholson, though I can see how people hear some similarity. In the clip you can sort of the menace and insanity...wow. This is exactly what fans of Batman need and want in a film. It seems it really could be epic.
Actually, the internet existed in '89. Yeah, it was absolutely nothing like it is today, but it existed.
Batman. I can't remember when I was this excited for a movie (LOTR?). This easily trumps my anticipation for INDY 4. Now...let's hope they push the intensity envelope for a PG-13 film.
I love the subtle reference to Wayne not being in control and not knowing how to deal the the chaos of the Joker. For all the haters: go and watch Batman and Robin and then realise how lucky we are to be getting this movie now.
Sorry- Came late to the party. Is this bad boy anywhere else online so I can sees it?! THANKS!
...but meaner. Fine by me.
It is nice to see it on YouTube, but I will wait for an HD version of Quicktime. This YouTube video is just a tease...
it's just so maniacal...probably the best Joker laugh I've ever heard. Ledger's work has paid off. This character is obviously very formidable and will be a great foil to Bale's Batman.
Check it out http://tinyurl.com/yvmky2
He looked and sounded great as the Joker in that trailer, so it looks like he pulled it off. The movie is looking good so far.
My only problem with the trailer (apart from the shoddy bootleg quality) is that there were a bit too many explosions in order to keep the meatheads satisfied. Batman Begins was a bit more intellectual than all the previous Batmans, so I hope this one isn't dumbed down for the mass audience who likes to see things go 'BOOM'.
...It happens dude. Downtown Tampa is a ghost town at night, downtown Atlanta pretty much is too.
... Batman Forever sucks ass, but is at least watchable. Batman & Robin, though, will boil your eyeballs right out of their sockets with the power of pure suckedness... just like the redo of Raiders on South Park that made Stephen Spielberg's head blow up.
According to the Lego playsets... ................................. ants will be the creepy crawly this time..............................and Mutt gets in a sword fight with Cate......... At least according to Lego
Thanks for posting the link to the pirated Phantom Menace trailer. Hadn't seen that in years.
The Dark Knight trailer looks pretty badass. I would have liked a little less Joker, but I certainly understand that the studio probably thinks they need him in there so much to sell it.
THANK YOU!
I sense in this trailer that the looney toon over the top Joker clashes with the dead serious atmosphere of the rest of the trailer , so much so that yeah batman's lost. If it didn't say "the dark knight" at the end you couldn't tell this was about batman really.
I hear ya on the explosions complaint....but you gotta know that it's the Joker causing them. Crime is escalating and things are getting out of control in Gotham, with the freaks on the rise. Hence, these ain't no Michael Bay type explosions.
Just....
Dude.
That was cool.
though whoever snagged that in the theater has killer sound on their phone. Sheeit.
completely agree. there's something brilliant about the shaky cam art of a bootlegged trailer. I like this thing. I like how the Joker seems to be the Protagonist in this trailer. the second half music of this thing sounds really crappy, though.

...punches your mother in the mouth.
Did anyone expect anything less of the trailer, whether the movie sucks or not?
I think BATMAN BEGINS was pretty weak on the villain side -- really setting up Wayne's psyche (for once). I think it's appropriate that Joker be Batman's equal in this film (marketing and screen time - wise) b/c it's Batman's first true test. He is up against something so beyond his understanding that he goes through some real hell in order to succeed or at least survive. So, the overabundance of Joker doesn't bug me. It's warranted.
But fuck the prequel haters. Menace, Clones and Sith rocked. Did Lucas make mistakes? Sure he did...a little too much Jar Jar, some choppy editing...but everything else that was "wrong" with the movies was there in the originals. I would have liked Anakin to have been a little older and Obi-Wan to have been the one to find him in Menace, sure and Sith has some awesome stuff cut out that I'd like to see put back in, but there's also things I'd change about the originals. The movies as they stand are great family movies, full of fun and action...and THAT's what Star Wars is about. A lot of people tend to forget that.
Anyways, TDK trailer is cool...as far as the Joker goes, there seems to be little references to Nicholson, Hamill and Romero in the performance as well as Ledgers own take. I doubt it was intentional, but its cool.
The Joker killed Optimus Prime! You Bitch! You Bitch!!! YOU'RE GONNA PAY!!!!
But anyway...
The most overlooked of the franchise, because it isn't as godawful as Batman & Robin and neither is it good like Burton's films. If you accept the premise of a return to the campy 60's Batman then Batman Forever is about the best you're going to get (except for the Adam West movie, which is hilarious). However, if you think (rightfully so) that the campy Batman of the 60's should have stayed in the 60's then Batman Forever's take on Batman is flawed from the beginning.
What's amazing to me is that there was a petition going around in the late eighties urging that Adam West be cast as Batman. People just can't see past the last version of the character. I think something similar is happening here with people who claim Ledger is ripping off Jack Nicholson. Ledger's Joker seems more intense/insane than Nicholson's "funny" version. I actually liked Nicholson's version of the Joker and I'm not yet sold on Ledger, but they're not the same version of the Joker at all.
Anyway, whatever you say about Burton's Batman, at least it wiped clean from public memory the "Batman-as-a-joke" of the Adam West years, similar to what Frank Miller had done earlier in the decade (although Dennis O'Neil deserves much more credit than Miller does for updating Batman in the 70's). It's ironic that with Miller's All Star Batman & Robin he's now returning to the Batman-as-a-joke years he tried to sweep under a rug. How the mighty have fallen.
Yes, it is a good little 3 minute "movie", but the one you see in the theater will be 90+ minutes. A good trailer is better than a shitty one, but they both don't mean that much. Oh well, I guess it's fun to be excited for something, so go ahead and enjoy yourselves. We all need hope.
Not that I don't appreciate having the trailer in glorious off-center blurr-o-vision, but when can I expect the official download to hit?
Can someone put it in Window Media? Work blocks flash and quicktime videos.
At least Miller is now telling a different kind of joke. And I actually think the '60s Batman is a great show for what it was. Gorshin's Riddler was perfect for ANY incarnation of the Dark Knight. He went from goofy to deadly serious on a dime. Unironically fantastic performance.
The trailer for The Phantom Menace was beautiful. And for all the folks who bitch about the fight scenes in Batman Begins...they're not fight scenes per say. Its's Batman comming out of the shadows to fuck up your world. To break your arm or snap your neck. A violent, swift lightning strike of punishment that these thugs deserve. If you want him to stand in the middle of a circle of badguys... each waiting their turn to have a crack at him while he spin kicks etc. then go watch The Matrix. Like Liam said "This is not a dance!" Maybe Nolan didn't capture that on film...but I like that approach. The last thing I need to see is another ultra- choreographed dance scene. BSB might disagree...he mentions Dancing With The Stars on these TB's enough already.
The joker is the most iconic bad guy in comic book history. Warner Borthers did a botched job with Batman Begins. It opened poorly but had legs, which doesn't happen for movies of this size anymore - this was a clear sign of a great movie that just wasn't sold well. SO, in order to rectify that they're going a little overboard with the joker promotion to really amp this shit up, which I think they're doing well. But the big point is, in terms of the film the Joker's presence won't be to the detriment of the Batman character. The entire point of remaking the movie (from Nolan's perspective) was to finally make a movie ABOUT Batman, who got the short end of the stick in all other film incarnations. I gaurantee Batman will go toe to toe with the Joker, and it will be fucking intense. Oh and Ledger's voice gives me chills.
I love it
No film outside of Begins has captuerd Batman's true nature. Until now; when Bats lands on the roof of that car? Game over...when are people going to learn, that there is only ONE Batman director, and only ONE actor who portrays him.
Oh my Fucking God this looks kick ass!!!
I agree that Adam West's Batman was a good show for what it was (although I've only seen one or two episodes, I'm more familiar with the movie). The movie is absolutely hilarious. The Russian diplomat pounding his shoe on the podium in an obvious reference to Khrushchev is pretty clever, and stuff meant for the adults to get and to go over the heads of most kids. The "bat shark repellent" still makes me laugh. I've heard people refer to that scene with disdain, but what they don't realize is that it's a goddamn joke and they should get a sense of humor.
I just think that Adam West, unfortunately, became synonymous with Batman, when he's a much richer, more varied character. It was time to put that version of the character to bed and I think Burton successfully did so.
As far as Frank Miller's All Star series, I can't help but be disappointed. I like Miller a lot, and I even liked the much maligned Dark Knight Strikes Again, but his All Star is just not funny. True, the kind of humor is updated, but I can't help but feel he's making fun of the whole Batman universe in a mean spirited self-hating way more than he's having a few lighthearted jabs. Comic book characters shouldn't be taken too seriously, but neither should they be the fodder for easy, unimaginative, jokes.
This one seems heavy on the Joker, I forgot where I read that the next will be similar in that one will focus on Batman and the other on Dent.
How long has this thing been online? It still hasn't been taken down...I think that maybe WB put this trailer out there to generate online buzz...I wouldnt be surprised if it never gets taken down, though if it does, I'm sure WB will put it off as long as they can.
That doesnt sound anything like Ledger..... That was on the smallest screenever and i only saw half of what happened but i still sex wee'd.
How is that a good Joker? There was nothing unique in that trailer(as far as the joker is concerned). So Ledger lowered his voice a little and added a little gruff. Jezus fucking christ the plants are out. Calling his Joker awsome by seeing only a couple seconds of his performance and saying it was better than Jack Nicholson's? That's the most retarded thing I've ever heard.
Holy fuck. That actually gave me chills.
...I can't view this at work.
are the best.
I normally ignore trolls such as yourself, but if you can't tell that this few seconds of Ledger's Joker is far superior to 2 hours of Nicholson's, then you really need to have your head examined. I'm not a plant, either, jackass.
PUT THE GOD DAMN MOTHA FUCKIN' TRAILER IN ANOTHER FUCKIN' FORMAT OTHER THAN FLASH/YOUTUBE SHIT! 95% OF THE COCK SLAPPIN' ASSHOLES WHO ARE AT WORK CAN'T VIEW THE PIECE OF FUCKIN' SHIT BECAUSE WORK COCK-BLOCKS THIS SHIT. POST THE FUCKIN' TRAILER....COCK TEASIN' VIDEO IN WINDOZE MEDIA YOU SLOPPY FUCKS. sigh....thank you.
How many comic book superhero movies have come out since Batman Begins? Have any of them been at least kind of good? No. That trailer was better than all of them. It made it look effortless too. Can't wait.
Because he seems like more of a character and less of a caricature. Nicholson's Joker works well in Burton's Batman, but at the end of the day it's still Jack in clown makeup dancing to Prince. I don't see that working in the world Nolan's creating.
sorry this is the same old junk the last movie was doodoo this joker is horrible ..... iron man is the movie of 08
It's the only one I've seen in a year that hasn't made me want to throw my monitor out of my window. This will be the flick of the year.
Please?
Sorry, I was trying to recover from the awesomeness I just saw.
Fuck you dude. What you said makes you the fucking idiot. You are making an opinion based on a few seconds you fucking dumbfuck. So I'm a troll cuz a retard like you likes to make rash decisions on little information. That's an assumption you uneducated dumbfuck. So I guess all good trailers lead to good movies also, dork? or rather you tell a great book by reading the first two pages? Seriously are u really arguing cuz you think 2 seconds is enough to make a decision. Jesus Fucking H Christ where do you inbred idiots come from? Are you from Alabama? dumbfuck

from Nicholson's, as I can tell from the clip. He brings a physical presence Nicholson couldn't at his age. He's set in a more real world and less part-cartoon part-real Burton world so he has a more intimidating presence. There are fewer "jokes" (from what we've seen) than Nicholson delivered. Nolan seems more interested in The Joker's pscyhe than Burton was with Nicholson's.
I really liked Nicholson as the Joker and I really liked Burton's Batman movies, but I also don't want them to regurgitate the same thing. Batman is a great character because he's malleable and different artists, whether they be writers, directors, comic book artist, or the like, can find something new and exciting in the same primordial material handed down through the years. The same elements can be rearranged to make something that's still recognizably Batman, but also something we haven't seen before. Ledger is slowly eroding my skepticism.
and that bitch had no teeth.
The problem with the last Batman anthology was the bat had a nasty habit of killing off his foes. You brought us Arkham for a reason, the movie better have Joker laughing his ass off in a straightjacket at the end. Oh and Eckhart walking out of the shadows with an iconic looking dual-colored suit on, with the last scene him flipping his coin. Don't kill Joker PLEASE!
You're trying to hard to sell it now. Way too hard. Oh and you KNOW Nolan is gonna kill the Joker off. Cause... that fits in with the "realism" or whatever that says Nolan "had" to make him a soiled, jagged mouthed. butter-toast combed hair jackass.
I knew Nolan had something massive in store for us!
Just watched the TPM trailer you posted (haven't seen that in years!). Still gives me chills; and I am right there with the audience's reactions.
I'm going to say it: George Lucas rules.
Sorry. When you fuck with the origin so much that it's WAY off the mark, then I can't sit down and waste $9.00 knowing I'm going to be nitpicking all the alterations to established canon. This ain't like Spider-Man with organic webs, this is a guy who PAINTS his face and cuts his mouth. Sorry - but that ain't Bob Kane's Joker. And I can't bear to listen to the thumps of that man turning over in his grave as the movie rolls...
Well, judging by the fact that you used the word "retard", said "u" instead of "you", and "cuz" instead of "because", I'd say that your opinions on this subject (and me, and just about everything else) are no longer valid. Oh, and you immediately cried "plant." Yeah, that gives you a ton of credibility. By the way, I'm from New York. Ass.
Bummer!! I was going to watch it for the 6th time-
So that I don't have to listen to your shitty "opinion" while walking out of the theater or before the film starts... And since you used the word "canon", did you hate The Dark Knight Returns, The Killing Joke and Arkham Asylum? Cause that wasn't in line with what Bob Kane's vision was either... I am REALLY starting to hate people...
and killed bruce's parents so he's on and off with the comic accuracy. But they kept the whole father/bastard-son sort of relationship between batman and Joker. Now in this movie they'll force a connection between them through their freaky outcast from society similarities which just isn't the same and can be drawn between batman and any villain...
That's your best response? A critique of my grammer usage? Are you 12? So now you're judging me because I used shorthand. I take it you have not been using the internet long if you're unfamiliar with short hand. So you're an idiot and a newb. Oh and New York also has it's idiots too. Was using the letter "u" instead of "you" too far a stretch for your brain? You still haven't answered any of my questions? So do you read just the first two pages of a book and then claim to know the whole thing? Do you make rash decisons in other aspects of your life? Read a whole book and see a whole movie before opening your mouth you dumbass.
Those who decry superhero films because they don't follow the original comic make me laugh. If there was a direct adaptation to the original Bob Kane comic they would complain that it needed to be update. "Canon" changes. So long as certain elements are maintained I don't care what a director does, so long as he makes it interesting.
I may be repeating myself, but the reason why Batman is such a strong character is because he's malleable. You can do so many things with Batman and make him different in so many ways with the essential elements of his character. If this wasn't the case, and people didn't change the character over the years, then there would no longer be a Batman because people would get bored with the character, much less because he would seem outdated.
If someone downloaded it please post the link...instruction's first link doesn't work anymore...
really coming out of the woodwork today. Bob Kane didn't seem to have any problems with the Joker killing Bruce Wayne's parents in Tim Burton's Batman film. I think he'd be fine with the Joker's portrayal in this one.

delete the spaces.
In the original origin, he jumped in on his own because the Red Hood helmet had a breathing aparatus and he thought he would swim out to safety. In the Killing Joke, he accidentally falls in while trying to get away. Enough with this "bastard son" bullshit that Batman Dead End was trying to push on people.
LOL means laughs out loud, dork.
Is "grammer" now shorthand for "grammar"? Interesting. Oh, and you used "it's" incorrectly. Well done. You have truly "socked it to me."
Hey kids - just watched it and it looks awesome! For some reason it still lives here. Catch it while you can. http://www.realitywired.com/2007/12/14/batman-dark-knight-trailer-footage-leaked/ Good luck. Hope you get to see it.
this was fucking great, ja typisch deutsch sich für jeden scheiss zu beschweren, ich weiss dass es ein teil von der deutschen kultur ist nie zufrieden zu sein, aber komm dass war geil
I'm sorry I'm typing this really fast and not proofreading. So if you're only going to criticize my spelling or my grammar and not my arguments then I guess you don't have a response.
oh look we have a bunch of moaning fucking inbred comic geeks talking shit about the jokers origin story changing too much. I got an idea for you fucktards. Wait and see the fucking film first, then decide if its too different for your precious little memories of Batman in tights to take. Fucking retards.
cheers mate
I was having no luck with the getvideo link or whatever it was. Great trailer. BTW, I had a day off this week so I sat down and watched Batman '89, and Batman Returns, and I've gotta say they still hold up, even today. You can tell they're def. Burton movies, but the score's great, the Batsuit is excellent, and that Batmobile is still awesome looking. I have nothing to say about Forever or 'And Robin, but those first two are great movies in and of themselves. As for Nicholson, I don't think he was hamming it up at all, I mean he was playing the Joker, a character by definition that is eccentric.
He hired other people to have a vision for him.
You said the perfect thing. The argument goes both ways. Don't praise or criticize this movie too much based on a trailer. Don't say Ledger is gonna be the best Joker or the worst based on 2 fucking seconds.
NOOOO
I have no idea what ledger is going to be like. I haven't seen the thing yet and will make my mind up once I have. I though Nicholson played the Joker as you would expect in a Tim Burton film. Slightly camp, slightly scary and slightly funny. Wasn't overly impressed by it but it was only a cotton candy version of Batman. Batman returns was far superior.
is no way to go through life, son. But you do make an excellent point. As does LowKeyCinema. Begins puts Batman in context of a somewhat more 'realistic' world. And Joker is as unrealistic as it gets. So how is he going to work into this? I for one am very stoked to find that out. I didn't much care for Nicholson's Joker, actually preferring Devito's Penguin more. But all four of the previous incarnations lacked something that Nolan's 1st movie didn't. And that's respect for the source material. However, the Joker's origin seems implausible in this setting. I wonder how they are going to handle it.
the scenes we see if him in incarceration are at the end, when he's beaten and brought in 'to justice'

And yes, it's super sweet!
"Got some fight in 'ya. I like it!" Definitely a Scottish accent -- maybe Irish, I don't know. I could never figure out the Joker's voice here. In the teaser he sounded like the President ("I'm a man of my worrrrd"). I like what I see, but given this Joker has no other alias, no real-life identity and no real backstory to speak of, Ledger seems to be trying real hard to sound like a clown or a big kid with a.d.d. That said, I can't really say it's a criticism because I'm with the consensus on this one -- I don't think we could have asked for a better trailer. Let's just hope the movie is as good.
http://tinyurl.com/389f55
THAT WAS BOB KRANE'S JOKER YOU COMPLETE MORONIC BUFFOON. The original joker painted his face for his crimes to the point that it started to stain his face... THEN the ret-conned it to be the acid bath. Not to mention the orignal joker was BRUTAL. He wasnt the joker because he played tricks and pranks but because he KILLED PEOPLE WHILE HE LAUGHED AT THEM DYING. The problem is too many of you underwear stains have taken the 60's version of the joker to be closer to the true one... its not even close, they tonned the Joker down in the 50's because of the comic codes. The original one was as brutal nasty and sick as Ledgers portrayal. If they added anything it was the facial scaring. But thats it.
I know this has been said multiple times, but I don't get all the hate. Batman Begins was genius, everything I wanted it to be. It's a Batman movie, with good actors, a strong plot, and great action! How can you complain about that??? I think fanboys have become so jaded that they don't know how to say something is good anymore. All that bullshit that Burton's is better? Maybe when you go to sleep at night and imagine it, but go back and watch it again, there are so many issues with those films, even that first one. Joker wasn't a 50+ year old car salesman (which is Nicholsen's version in my mind) he was a freaking lunatic! Ledger looks like a nutjob, that is perfect!
You just have a tendency to spew profanity when it's not needed. Yes, I *am* only going to criticize your spelling and grammar...without proper usage of both, how the hell are you going to be able to form a cohesive thought? If I were you, I'd just stick with the whole "FUCK", "DORK", "DUMBASS" angle...simple words from a simple man.
No, there is at least one other Talkbacker, I am Batman, who doesn't like Ledger...or Nolan...or BATMAN BEGINS.
But he's a very sad little boy who still sleeps in Batman pajamas.

Who here honestly ever read them? I just want a good movie.
'In Burton's Batman, Joker says "They're gonna love me'." Wrong.
I'm lovin' it. Looks like '08 is going to be a good year for hero flicks.
Finally we get the real Joker. Yeah, fanboys are never gonna stop weeping about the fact that it's a makeup face (this IMO makes it so much better - The Joker chooses to have the white face, this makes him more insane). There is no Joker origin story in this movie, again this is SO MUCH BETTER because he's just an insane freak.
shut the fuck up. it's an internet talkback...who gives a flying fuck if he spells things perfectly or if he uses shorthand. christ...you keep bitching and trying to sound as if you're above him...when in reality, you're probably just as much a dumb-fuck as he is.
Perhaps you're right, but I'm nowhere near as much of a dumb-fuck as you are.
No joke.
... so get that through your thick skulls you cynical bastards and start loving Nolan's Bat movies with the rest of us. It doesn't make you look cool to be a dissenter when the trailer is a veritable orgasm.
Maybe this *is* a joke...
Ledger's voice sounds...that's half the character right there.
DAMN YOU WARNER BROTHERS. Or wait... even better... DAMN YOU MICHAEL BAY.
Yeah... but I have to disagree with you on one thing. Tommy Lee Jones should've felt constrained to the authenticity of his character's source material more than he did. Two-Face isn't The Joker, but he was portrayed with Nicholson's caliber of silliness, unfortunately. However, as for Carrey as The Riddler, he had a little more wiggle room in the silliness department but I concur that he did take it a few beats too far in key moments of the film. It was more Jim Carrey acting like Jim Carrey than Jim Carrey acting like The Riddler. They were both good choices for the characters, but they just had poor direction on behalf of Shumacher. Under the guidance of a more experienced and strict director they could've pulled the characters off wonderfully, no doubt in my mind.
AMazing.
"Batman," then "Date added." There are a bunch of copies on there.

I found it in ten minutes. Not only is The Joker insane, he's vicious, just like in the comic.
You're entire response to what I said has been about grammar usage and spelling. So what is your response to my argument you can't judge a performance by only watching five seconds of it? Where's your answer to that? That is the same logic as saying you liked or disliked a novel by reading the back cover. Think before opening your dumb mouth.

like someone in another thread said- the original concept was that the joker's face was painted- either so much or by such caustic paint that his skin eventually was stained by it.it was kind of his own punishment by that point, driving him madder. so i have a feeling that this story kinda goes that way. Face it, if you want to look like a clown, are already nutso, and need to go commit heavy crimes- do you go by some drug store halloween makeup that will rub off in the wind?- or do you grab the cheap, lead filled old expired white industrial paint you have laying around your abandoned warehouse? my guess is the latter, and there's no tellin' what enough treatments of that will do. if anyone wants to try, let us know. in every pic it looks like the black and red run, but the white (that in early pics looks so thickly applied) begins to stain and crack off, revealing his skin kinda looks grayish white as a result. we can hope?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ylGUNzoz8cE Get it while it lasts!
WB wants you to see I Am Legend in the theaters. That's all. Once the grosses are up this weekend, they'll put the trailer online.
I'll wait for the good version to surface on quicktime.
[cue the guy from 'Cloverfield'] Ohmigod ohmigod ohmigod ohmigod ohmigod...See? He was watching the TDK trailer on his iPod, that's all..no monster.
No, I don't mean he fucked him, he fucking nailed the laugh. That shit was fucking awesome. I cannot wait for Dark Knight. Holy shit. Holy shit Holy shit.

it's true- all this dark knight stuff hit HARD right when the bad reviews of Legend started to trickle in. Not that the movie is BAD, but that the CGI kills everything else great the movie had going for it.
so release all the TDK tie-ins to save the day and boost numbers because people will go just to see the preview. (like we weren't anyway)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ihx0tDyQoRs
"Then you're going to love me." That's fucking BATMAN. Right there, and Ledger's Joker Laugh sounds like a guy I know who fucking laughs like a goddamned maniac, all breathy and wheezing, like he's about to have a fucking heart attack...Sweeney, I'm sorry man, but that's how you laugh...But seriously, the first flick was great, and this one looks like the second half of the first movie, like it's meant to be part of the same flick...not the disjointed 89 'series' of films was. 'Batman Returns' was actually alright....Max Shreck was funny. But this looks bad to the ass and back.
rather than chase everyone's pirates all over the internets...c'mon warners
Somebody put this in a none youtube format so i can watch it...at work bitchez!
I can like the prequels and Batman right? It's not like against the religion of the dork, or something to like a lighthearted space flick...AND a comic book movie? I liked Sith a lot, thought it did everything right. I just wish it would have been Clone Wars, Rise of the Sith, and a third actual Darth Vader movie, and leave out the 'where threepio came from' episode. I don't need the pilot episode, I just want the kickass stuff. Like begin Clone Wars with the last thirty minutes of TPM and we stop with the 'CSPAN Star Wars'. Money...
TDK is going to be great, and while I'm finishing off my popcorn, I'll buy a ticket for Indy, and go watch him raid some tombs and wombs.
you get the idea. Looks pretty good. Ledger has the voice nailed.
;)
very well-done trailer.

I bow to Mr Ledger, you sound awesome. This is going to be the one real complete Batman movie that BB was the introduction to.
mooning me, instead of the leaked trailer.
is that you, Harry?
TDK
Dark Knight
any of those will lead you to 10+ copies.
about how the internet works. Pretending to get all indignant and yelling at everyone to remove the trailer...they know that doing that will only make people more inclined to seek it out.
http://www.slashfilm.com/2007/12/14/the-dark-knight- trailer- leaked-online/
Okay, if the trailer is anything to go by, Christopher Nolan has apparently mastered the art of blowing shit up. Good for him. Will the movie be good, too? Who the hell can say from that crappy trailer? One thing, though -- all you Heath haters are in for a big surprise. He's way more Joker than anyone's ever put onscreen before. Nice work, Ledger.
One of the few films where I'm confident all my expectations will be met.
You've got it. You had it already at the end of "Begins." So while the trailer doesn't change my decision to see this, it does give me hope for the film. But you'll have to stand in line for my money behind a guy named Rambo...John J.
I like your prayer. Deliver us from the wicked cinema fare of Bay, amen.
Fuck me. that shit just finished and i have no more testicles due to the sheer destruction and awesomeness that happened. THE BLACKEST NIGHT!
did van schiver draw it? I'll read it on the shelf
I am sick of the "this isn't my batman because..." posts. You're right. This isn't your Batman. It's Nolan's Batman. Get over it. You know you are going to see it anyway.
Looks good.
So i went home during lunch to watch the trailer since it's blocked at my work and it was well worth the trip...my favorite part is when batman goes by the joker in the street and joker doesn't even twitch...just slowly turns around like it's time to play. Can't wait!
Film of the Forever confirmed.
It's gone. crap.
Yes!!!
Not that anyone here has reason to give two shits what I think, but since Joker's incarceration is obviously NOT the end of the movie, there are a couple of ways he could escape or be released: 1.) The old fashioned way -- fight his way out. 2.) Someone bails him out, maybe a mob guy since it's been inferred that he's been enlisted by the mob to take down Batman. And then there's a third, highly unlikely possibility: He has no ID, they can't print him and have either none or no usable evidence, so he's let go on his on recognizance -- highly, highly, ridiculously and embarassingly improbably given the "realistic" tone of Nolan's bat-universe, but remotely possible considering the above conditions and the fact that the police must still be corrupt. As far as hype goes, I think this is getting more hype than "Begins" because "Begins" was sort of an experiment. There wasn't too much riding on it because, despite its unusual star power, it wasn't a very glitzy production by blockbuster standards nor was it really expected to be a big hit -- and it wasn't a big hit -- made less in cinemas than "Superman Returns" did the following year - until it hit DVD, then the word-of-mouth caught up with it and everyone and their long lost pet bought the DVD. I will agree that they're making way too much of Ledger's Joker in these campaigns, especially since they went to all that trouble to film his first appearance in the movie in IMAX, presumably to make it "special," but how could it be considering IMAX doesn't necessarily make the character look differently and we've already seen just about every visual incarnation of the Joker online, both through leaked photography and "official" press. And, to top it all off, they're essentially blowing their wad seven months before the movie opens by showing the same opening sequence on IMAX screens before the IMAX showings of "I Am Legend." Sadly, I doubt Nolan is having much say in this film's marketing, even though the trailer seen today does kick ass (to say the very least).
The talkback had the link to the first Bootleg trailer, there was never an offical version. What I mean was that all the ones out there now are copies of the first, and there are plenty of copies to view.
slightly misread your post. you can find copies of the trailer by searching by the "Date Added" function. only look for ones added today.
i didnt notice for a while cuz i was just hanging out in the TB
The killing joker is on board now. I will admit, I won't be seeing I am Legend to see this on the big screen, but I live in the UK, so hopefully it will precede one of the next films I see.
I JUST CRAPPED MY PANTS THAT WAS SO BADASS How does Nolan capture the Joker and Batman so perfectly?!? MiraJeff- The hype and focus on the Joker might be a bit much... but think of it this way: if too much hype brings us more movies like this, then BRING ON THE HYPE
That's about all I'm capable of... geeky giggles
...I love the way he does this line. It's so off-kilter, like you're not sure if he's mentally slow, or menacing or just very deliberate. That's the essence of what I've gathered from this trailer, that Ledger is giving a true acting job and not just taking another page from the "LOOK AT ME! I'M A PSYCHO CAUSE I SMILE WHILE I KILL PEOPLE!" playbook. That along makes this movie worth being excited for. Nolan has populated his Batman universe with character actors who are actually internalizing these characters and trying to give their performances some substance. This is in direct contrast to the bloated final days of the former Batman franchise, where the biggest star of the moment was cast as the villain and basically played themselves, regardless of how utterly ill-suited for the character they were. When Bale's Batman fights Ledger's Joker, it's going to be a physical showdown between order and chaos - exactly what their relationship is supposed to be about. I can't wait.
For the rest of us, that was probably the most joyous few minutes of our lives. I know it was for me, is that sad?
It sure as hell does. This movie should come out in May!! Petition WB!
That's all I can say about Ledger. I don't see how any fan of the Batman comics can not be thrilled about that trailer. I came.
When the hero faces off against his arch enemy...it should really pay off! Lets hope a bunch of the Joker's thugs don't just beat Bruce's ass and leave.
That was the best non-fuck I've ever had.
I feel like Heath is going to break out in a river dance during those scenes in the jail cell. After all he is sporting some Flatley-esque custom threads. The trailer looks great though. I can't even think of another bad quality bootleg trailer I would have watched 20 times.
It's all part of the plan...to make TDK the best comic book movie of all time.
Warner Bros. will burn Harry down and bag his ashes for this one. Game over. But OMFG was it worth it. That is one badass trailer. Mr. Nolan, pack your suitcase and camp outside of the Kodak Theatre right now. There needs to be a new trailer oscar handed out right now!!!
How can anyone be excited by Ledger's performance based on this trailer? We hear him laugh and deliver a few ho-hum lines. Certainly, there's not much of an impression left on me. Do geeks love the Joker so much that they'll get excited about any appearance by the character? Overall, not a very affecting trailer. Okay, it's a teaser right, hence the lack of any story elements? Fine. But where's the structure to the trailer? Why doesn't it build to something? It just looks like any other big budget action movie. And if you remove the white face make-up from Heath, isn't he just another action villain from a Die-Hard rip-off. Just another case of fanboy overeaction.
The Cloverfield talkback needs some more naysayers, so GTFO and have a ball.
Fucking killjoy.
Man this is gonna be awesome.
You are the biggest killjoy I've ever seen. "Ho-Hum" lines? "Lack of any story elements"? DID YOU EVEN WATCH THE TRAILER?!? Seriously- do you write funeral dirges for a living? Do you work as a mortician? Do you describe yourself as a "goth"? If so, you may be a dipshit killjoy. Just kidding on that, but really, what's your problem?
"Do geeks love the Joker so much that they'll get excited about any appearance by the character?" YES!!! EXACTLY!!! YOU JUST NAILED IT!!! YOU ANSWERED YOUR OWN QUESTION WITH YOUR OWN QUESTION!!! Apparently you didn't grow up with Batman and the Joker like most of us did. To see this bootleg trailer, even in the shitty quality that it has been presented to us, is like better than 20 orgasms in a row to us. I am sorry that you don't feel passionate about anything in your life in the same way that we feel about this, but that's your problem, not ours. So quit taking it out on us. I wish I could make you see and understand what we're going through when we see Heath Ledger tearing up the screen with his badass performance in the new trailer, but if you watched it and you didn't feel anything, then you're a lost cause, and you can never understand. It's something where you really had to grow up with the Batman mythos to really understand what the hype is all about. Personally, I can't imagine my childhood or teenage years without being exposed to the legendary Batman or the Joker or any of the other parts of the Batman Universe. I can't wait til this trailer is in Quicktime... "HIT MEH!"
WHY SO SERIOUS!!!!??????
ash talon, go away.
I wonder if the Joker is talking to scarecrow in that scene.
thats my favorite part...I love the opening shot of the bat-cycle too. Awesome all the way around.
That looked epic. Even in bootleg format. And if anyone reading this knows which comic book/writer first dealt with the idea of superhero/villain escalation, please help refresh my memory.
I am pretty sure he is talking to Batman in that scene, dude. Not Scarecrow.
This is like geek crack.
This trailer ruled my face and punched your momma in the mouth. I was a skeptic about Ledger, but based on what I saw here, he's not just acceptable. That was badass.
It was just a thought...they show images of Batman while he's saying it but there's a good chance he's saying it to a third person...could even be Dent. Just a hunch, but I think he's talking to Crane trying to get more of the poison or for him to make some laughing gas, somthing like that. The attack on the Narrows and the fear toxin is going to be a big storyline in TDK, just look at the Gotham Times. I bet Scarecrow will have a decent role in the film. I hope so at least. I thought Cillian Murphy was good.
and even though the film was good the best part of the experience was watching the 6 minute prologue to Batman: The Dark Knight! Heath Ledger in my opinion is embodying The Joker in a very fresh and favorable way. I love it!!
Hence the cycle!!!----------------- The trailer shows the Joker hanging outside the back window of a cop car laughing his ass off. Somebody did something to the cop driving that car. So it most likely flips over and he gets out or something like that. Mob probably shot the cop.
Batman Begins was wasn't bad but somehow managed to suck all the fun out of Batman. Now I'm completely not excited about this one. I'm sure I'll see it, but as much as I love Batman, I'm utterly indifferent about this film. Bat's girl is in danger again--big surprise. I'd rather be seeing another Marvel film or another installment of YouTube's It'sJustSomeRandomGuy's Marvel/DC videos, which are just as awesome.
like Elektra, or those awesome Fantastic Four movies, and the Hulk. Ang Lee really hit a home run with that one. Daredevil...I could go on and on. You haters need to go away and let us enjoy this shit.
and after each delivery of "why So Serious?" i feel like i've live a complete life. take me now, jesus, it's all downhill from here. (until next july, anyway). i was planning on going to IAL tonight with some buddies just for this trailer, but they both bailed on me. bastards! who gives a shit if your girlfriend's family is in town for christmas? BATMAN TRAILER!!! and who gives a flying fuck about having to work? you don't need money, you need to see the BATMAN TRAILER! Fuck i hope i can see this tomorrow on the big screen... now if you'll excuse me, here come number 27...
Commissioner Gordon: Penguin, Joker, Riddler... and Catwoman, too! The sum of the angles of that rectangle is too monstrous to contemplate! // Batman: We've been given the plainest warning. They're working together to take over... // Chief O'Hara: Take over *what*, Batman? Gotham City? // Batman: Any *two* of them would try that! // Commissioner Gordon: The whole country? // Batman: If it were three of them, I would say yes, but *four*? Their minimum objective must be... the *entire* world.
I love BATMAN '66. Best line in the flick: "Bon voyage, Pussy!"
Is it just me, or does the Joker seem even more serious than the guy he's asking. Best line of the trailer, "Youre just a freak.......... LIKE ME!" Cant wait to see psycho clowns roaming city streets with machine guns and rocket launchers on that big screen.
i'm still annoyed from reading those dipshit posts up top about how indy is going to suck. all the batman naysayers are like the nasty lady in front of you in line at the grocery who hassles the poor minimum-wage checker. why you gotta be like that? some of us have had a rough week and getting to see a trailer that's more fun than, say, that one for the movie about all the people who jump off the golden gate bridge, well, it makes us happy and you don't. so go away for a while and don't come back until we've all calmed down.
but they're still human beings.

Robin: "A sparrow with a machine gun." Batman: "Precisely" __________________________________ Wait, it happened at sea, "c" for Catwoman.
They couldn't have gotten Two-Face more wrong in Batman Forever. The only accurate part of Two-Face's portrayal was right at the end, when Batman talks him into flipping a coin. Tommy Lee Jones stops shouting for the first time in the movie and becomes sad... wish the entire performance had been like that, with just a few genuinely scary outbursts of insanity. As far as the makeup... yeesh... couldn't believe it when I first saw the poster art. The one thing I really hope Nolan does with Two-Face is dress him normally. Both sides of his character like to be dapper, and neither side looks dapper in half a fucking suit. The real Two-Face wears a suit with one design, like everyone else.
Best line in the trailer, I'm suprised how good the quality is. I'm going to see IAL in IMAX, it was a toss-up between that and the regular theater to see this bad boy up on screen, but hopefully we'll get that up online by sunday
The first teaser played up the Joker/Mob relationship. Maybe after Joker is arrested for a first robbery, the mob breaks him out so they can use him. That could be a big action scene.
remember those production photos of all those criminals in cheap batman outfits?
I was also iffy on Heath's casting, but all doubts have been put to rest after seeing this trailer. He obviously immersed himself in this role - and the result will be the darkest, scariest Joker ever put to screen.
I can die now.....wait...FUCK I have to wait for the fuckin movie first! Damn you Warner Brothers! Thanks to you bastards, I now have a 7 month long case of blue balls. This is where love and hate collide. What a fucking AMAZING movie this is going to be.......
but have you seen the trailers for Vantage Point and Untraceable? VP is kick-assery trailer art at its finest.

is on its way.
I bet you liked Transformers...admit it.
I hope that he starts to grow a taste for the dapper lifestyle as the real joker did and start to put his make-up on a little cleaner. I think that will make a lot of people happy. He just looks to messy. Love the scars, but make the makeup a little cleaner within the scars and greener hair and you have the best joker ever.

He had makeup over his mustache, now that is the mark of a true psycho. Also, if I saw him and Heath Ledger both dressed as clowns holding machine guns, I would just think of Brokeback Mountain and laugh.... and then be terrified of Caesar Romero.
It looks as if Ledger has this role down. Normally, a movie that looks this cool would be my most anticipated film. Unfortunately for the Dark Knight, I'd rather see Indiana Jones.
He was nearly 60 when he played the Joker. Motherfucker was in the first Thin Man movie, for shit's sake!
That trailer was absolutely fucking awesome. How anyone can see that and not be excited is completely beyond me.
Why do you guys lap this stuff up?
Is it for the same reason why you guys tolerate Bale speaking like a Baldwin brother when he's under the cowl?
You are mine enemy through and through...
:) Just kidding...I give the guy a fuckin' break cause he's not an American. What do you like Immortal? Fucking Michael Keaton channeling Beetlejuice, 'You wanna get NUTS?! COME ON, LET'S GET NUTS!'...Right. You're easily discountable, for that right there. Go 'way, leemie lone, I wanna watch more Batman.
Burton's Batman was dark and twisted for the sake of being dark and twisted. Burton turned a pro-PETA burglar into a supernatural dominatrix, and a tuxedo-wearing mob boss into a mutant leader of a sewer circus who bled fecal matter. And, as with all Burton movies, there was the constant presence of choir boys chanting "La la la la..." in the background. Burton even warped Batman himself, portraying him as willing to kill evil-doers. Batman's costume also featured eyeshadow attached to the mask (as seen in Batman Returns); and a thick leather cape that never got in the way (during the scene in which Batman first encounters Jack Napier, where he is hits a man with his forearm from behind a wall, you can plainly see how two very different capes were used in that scene). As for Robin, I actually hope that Nolan NEVER gets around to him. There are soooo many ways to wrongly portray Robin. But that won't stop me from suggesting a portrayal of my own liking: First of all, change Robin from a 14-year-old boy to a 14-year-old girl. Not only is that presedented by comic book cannon, but it's also much more alluring. (Robin IV was a girl, and so was the Robin from TDKR.) Next, completely revamp the costume. Even Tiny Toons made fun of the fact that Robin's costume serves only to draw fire away from Batman LOL. Let's try a costume composed mostly of blacks or very dark greens, with some equally dark reds. Give the girl a mask that covers much more of her head. Between she and Batman, she needs the protection more than he does, right?
People who are saying this trailer gives too much away... I feel like I saw a lot in terms of Joker v. Bats action, but with no Dent in sight, and little Gordon... I feel like we're being saved a lot, here. Hopefully they don't show us much more, but if this is it, this is GREAT.

Looks like Nolan's putting alotta time, inspiration and detail behind this thing. And that teaser poster with the Joker blurred through glass and blood smeared over his smile is fucking brilliant and creepy as fuck! Can't wait for this one...
I know this film is going to fucking rock and I knew this trailer was going to be fucking awesome. The only disappointment I have, is that it's not online yet and I have to wait, until tomorrow, to see it on the big screen. I wish I could see the IMAX first 6 mins thing.
..with the Batcycle and Batmobile. It should have been renamed; "The dark Knight rides" I have higher expectations for Iron Man, but that's just me a Marvel zombie.
I DIG the trailer. It's way more epic and sleek in terms of aesthetics than I was expecting. I'm pretty much sold. I've never gotten geek-chills from a Batman trailer, and I admit that this did the trick. Heath's lines and delivery are top notch psychotic. \m/ I am glad to be convered

But that trailer sure did. finally a scary Joker! this movie reminds me more of Blade Runner with all the tech stuff and designs.
You're probably, a lot of these marketing depts. give away way too much. But it seems to me like Nolan's the kind of dude that would have a good amount of say in this thing and he wouldn't let the cat entirely out of the bag. At least, that's what I'm hoping...
Wouldn't the cops wash his face before chucking him in a cell?
..something flips over or explodes. He must have supernatural powers in this one. I think that's AWESOME!!
I doubed Ledger's ability to pull this off since he has SUCKED in everthing he's ever done. But DAMN! he's good. I'm convinced. Sold. Now give me my damn ticket!
Not a chance. Batman still goes to Hong Kong for some reason that is not explained. Or maybe I heard that wrong. Also it did'nt even show Two-face or Scarcrow, who are also in the film.
Val Kilmer sucks. Let's see what he wagered: George Clooney sucks.
:-)
Some of you take yourselves far too seriously. You know what, you need to lighten up.........like me! Lets put a smile on that face........
I saw this last night before I Am Legend. That is one creepy-ass Joker. He nailed it. Ledger is one of those actors I neither like nor dislike. It depends on the role, and I didn't think he could pull this one off. I owe him an apology.
The makeup is still on in the cell because he probably bit fingers off when they tried to wash his face.
Interesting that everyone says, 'this isn't going to be an origin story.' How do we know that for sure. Just because the movie opens with Joker already in play, doesn't mean that we won't see flashes or glipses of his past. Everyone knows that Nolan's stories are generally out of sequennce and full of flashbacks. I'm not convinced this story won't include his history, even if it's just a taste. What kind of Joker do you want people? This is more believeable.
Fucking awesome.
TPM, AOTC, & ROTS are ABORTIONS. Three strikes and they're out: Mannequin Skywalker, Jar-Jar, HORRIBLE writing "NOOOOOOOO!!!!" and "Medically, there's nothing wrong with her..." And Nicholson's Joker is Immortal, I'm sorry.
Mr. Slave!
Nolan is taking the character in new and exciting directions. The realistic take really works on film. This is Nolan's own world and his own Batman story. People are mad because it's not directly adapting the comics? What's wrong with a little originality? Something NEW?
That's going to a favorite saying in 2008, I think. "Why so serious?" It's gonna be like "Show me the money!" and you're going to hear it everywhere when people think they're being clever, hip, what have you. But Heath? oh, Heath! And of course, Christian Bale, sigh. Thanks for the piracy, you guys! It better stay up to. To Dreamworks and Warners if they do take it down: "Why so serious?" *crickets chirp*. What?

I guess the people at Warner Bros are just gonna let this one slide. No complaints, but will someone please leak that IMAX prologue footage because I'm close to driving to LA just to watch that six minute clip.
These movies are stupid. Take Batman Begins... Ninja training? Pretending to be drunk and insulting everyone to get away from the party? Liam Neeson's long, long bad guy speech as the mansion burned down? "Do you have it in black?" Every moment Morgan Freeman was on screen? The Batmobile switching to its weird-ass targeting mode before doing a jump? The Batmobile jumping? A fire breathing horse? That movie was filled with almost as much cheese and cringe-inducing moments as Schumacher's later efforts. It was laughably bad. The ironic joke of pretending it was good was funny at first but it has gone on far too long. It was a joke, right? RIGHT?
Uhhhhhh.......NO.
Up there with the the Phantom Menace teaser, the LOTR internet teaser and subsequent trailers, ID4 teaser/trailer, etc.
We have several months to go, and they've already released a trailer? I really hope they stop. I want to go in knowing as little as possible. PLEASE STOP MAKING TRAILERS.
After seeing the trailer on the big screen this afternoon I can't help but be truly excited for what Knight has in store for us. I really thnk that Ledger is going to give a comic book villian that will set a new standard. Also, I don't think that the marketing is giving away too much about the Joker. We don't really know what his plans are and we have seen nothing of Dent/Two Face. The scene in teh trailer when Ledger screams for Bats to hit him I think points to where the story may go. Joker may be trying to push Bats to kill him. See how far Batman is wiling to go to be Gothams "savior".
as someone above said for those of you hting on ths film and Ledger, just go back and watch Batman and Robin and be thankful that we are getting this and not more Freeze.
that haters for this movie are idiots and frankly freaking idiots... this looks to be the best sequel since T2 and one of the best previews i've ever seen! I can't wait for this movie... I can't remember an advertising scheme for anything beter than what they've done on this movie
No amount of fanboi masturbation is going to change that shitty third act. How can you call that movie the best comicbook movie ever when Batman is FLYING over an island full of coked-out hobos? Ridiculous. That last act fucked up an otherwise excellent movie. That being said, this trailer does look awesome, but where is Batman? I don't have the religious faith that so many of you seem to have, but this trailer gets me a bit more excited.
I'm still not as in love with Begins as I hoped I would've been because of that. Although Batman smashing into car was kinda sweet
your mother and your life is overrated. If you see things like that, maybe you should shut the fuck up and watch the news.
Was cool. Bats fighting Raas on the train was sweet. The Scarecrow finally calling himself "scarecrow" on horse back with the flames shooting out of its nose. Great stuff! Very surreal.
... the number of times that Christian Slater breaks the 4th Wall in Kuffs.
Suffered from some pretty on-the-nose dialog that over-used the word "fear" . Kind of like Brave Heart and "freedom". Begins didn't suffer from any plot or development problems that I could tell and I really dug it. The new one is supposed to be written by Nolan and his Brother so I hope this is an improvement. Think Wrath of Kahn vs The Motion Picture if you need an analogy.
I don't know if that's a good or a bad thing though. I mean I like the theatrical fantasy approach to super heroes, and this "more realistic" bull is just so pretentious in my opinion, but this looks very "out there" still. I think I may have grossly underestimated Heath Ledger, but I also agree that someone seems to be itching to make this about the Joker and not Batman. I guess the trouble is that the Batman is so fucking intense and brooding, you kind of need the Joker or the villain to break up all the angst. That said, I kind of hope that the Joker doesn't kick the bucket at the end. It's wrong to kill off the villains of these movies, and I still think they really did kill off Ra's Al-Gul on us (no Lazarus Pits are making it into this "more real" Batverse, people).
The DK trailer rocks harder on the big fucking screen! Joker looks/sounds just awesome. Can't wait!
I don't get why the talkbacks on this number in the hundreds but other movies get either few posts or any. Go see "The Lives Of Others". If you don't walk away from that more moved or impressed than any "Batman" movie then you're either eight years old or not human.
...was great. I had no problems with it. But more importantly, it accomplished more than one necessary feat: 1) Scarecrow's gas attack on the city not only left many people insane (including criminals), but inspired genuine fear in the minds of Gothamites for Batman, whom they perceived as a dark, gliding demon with glowing eyes. And with regard to Batman's gliding over the city, that is not uncanonical; decades ago, the Batman could glide via his cape. Besides, just like a man who can't make spider-webs shouldn't call himself "Spider-Man," a man who can't fly shouldn't call himself "Batman." Lastly, the third act solidified the limits to which Batman would ever go to deliver justice: he will never intentionally take another's life.

I never thought of that but if the movie doesn't exist in a bubble, meaning it can reference the previous unlike parts 3 and 4 (oh god they sucked) then it can for that reason that the Riddler, Joker, Penguin are created. Awesome.
I hate it when you know a villain survived despite appearances and will only come back at a later date against all odds. Tiresome. Not surprising, just irritating. So I'm glad they iced Liam. If Ras comes back I won't be shocked, I will be pissed off. No more false resolutions! Resolve, and move on to the next challenge, just like they're doing. Makes a much more satisfying story arc to me. Of course, I didn't really like Ras' whole underground justice ninjas from across time thing. Rome fell because of a secret ninja society? Please. That said, the rest of Begins was freaking amazing and this trailer blew my hair to the back of this auditorium.
I'm a huge, hUGE Nolan fan but I hated his adaptation of The Prestige. Granted its not the easiest book to adapt but I really disagreed with a lot of the choices that he and Jonah made with it. The directing was good as always but the storytelling was lacking.
If you look at the Gotham Times you can read some of the stories about the Narrows attack and its lingering effects on the city.
I think its very well done...although a little convoluted at times...I love it.
Wasn't that something out of It's a Wonderful Life? "Look, Daddy, Teacher says every time the Joker claps his hands ..."
Fully agree. Makes it all the more weird when people around here talk about how much they love and appreciate "film." And creepier (although it's plenty creepy to begin with) when they describe how much they liked a movie in terms of ejaculation, or defecation. I mean, what exactly are they trying to say?
That said, reading these boards can be entertaining, I suppose. Sometimes informative.
I just ejaculated over a clown and and a scary man in black latex. Is something wrong with me?????
Pinch me
Shit I hate when they kill off character that NEVER DIED in the comics!!! OK Green Goblin wasn't bad, but Harry? I mean he does die, but not so young. Plus he had a kid when he did. Doc Ock, Penguin, Jack's Joker, Venom, Two-Face, Kane.... LAME! STOP KILLING OFF CHARACTERS! SEND THEM TO THE GOTHAM ASYLUM or SOMETHING, but DON'T KILL THEM!!!!!! Not killing Scarecrow in Begins was awesome... leaves it open to bring him back. I hope they do the same with The Joker. So he can return in the 3rd film - "GOTHAM"

Oh I definetely expect the Joker to end up in Arkham at the end of this film. Personally, I found it quite arrogant of Burton to kill off two-thirds of the villains his films featured (Catwoman alone survived Burton's pen). Likewise, I was none-too-pleased that Shumaker killed Two-Face like he did. While it is, indeed, unfortunate that Harry Osborn died, I think that we can all agree that his death -- while contrary in many ways to comic canon -- was dealt with respectfully. And let's not forget that unlike Venom, his character was allowed to develop and mature over the course of not one or two but three entire films.
As for Raz'al Ghul, I, too, was disappointed that he died. And then I remembered that he is immortal in comic canon, and all became well.
My personal expectations for TDK, with regard to the way that it will deal with the Joker, are as follows: the Joker will kill someone dear to either Batman, Gordon, or Dent, in an effort to compell Batman to kill him. Batman will beat him to a bloody pulp, but will stop short of taking his life. Then the Joker will be thrown into Arkham, where the very best and brightest expert in abnormal psychology and criminal insanity, Dr. Harleen Quinby, will be assigned to rehabilitate him back to sanity.
My only fear is that, just like Burton's Joker, Burton's Catwoman, Schumacker's Riddler, and Shumacher's Two-Face, Nolan's Joker will succeed in his very first movie in learning Batman's true identity. That is such an old and used and -- to be honest -- shallow plot device, in my opinion. I truly hope that they decide against using it.
reveal. which is one of the most mahestic scenes I have seen in cinema. Obviously you wouldn't see it that way if you weren't a misanthropist, but just Ra's speech "when a forest grows too wild, a purging fire is innevitable and natural" all of that was just so powerful, here stands the most dangerous man on earth. And that middle eastern music along with the editing. Amazing. Plus the train fight, when Bats defeats Ra's and he has that anger and emotion in his voice and that cresendo in the score plays that is part of the 'falling' theme. Just amazing. what a climax. Brilliant filmmaking.

I've had this down as very much playing second fiddle to Indy....until now. THIS is the biggest movie of next summer right now. I can't remember a reaction to a trailer like this since TPM in '99. Over to you Paramount, we want that Indy trailer! What an incredible turnaround for the Bat. That tentative opening of Begins in 2005, then the word got round and it did just great. TDK might even break the opening weekend record. Where's the love for Batman & Robin on here. I think we all know that if it wasn't for that movie we wouldn't be here anticipating the second coming in July. It had to get THAT BAD for Warners to hold their hands up and reboot. "Take two of these and call me in the morning" - jesus fuckin christ!!
On pirated trailers. The sound and video quality sucks, but there's nothing like hearing a whole audience cheer along.
I haven't watched this crude phone video, but last night I saw the real deal at the beginning of I am Legend. It is FULL IMAX SCREEN SIZE!!!! The opening Shot of Gotham is nothing less than Mind Blowing in the detail and size and it only gets more badass from there. If you only see this in a tiny little window, then YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW AWESOME THIS MOVIE LOOKS ALREADY!!!
as a flashback. I wouldn't mind seeing more ninja training. Plus, even if Ra's is gone, that doesn't mean the organization is. Perhaps the title of "Demon Head" is passed down through generations.
"your mother and your life is overrated." Ooooooooh, wow. What teh burn!!! Go back to your fanboi wankage you loser. I hear that if you masturbate 1000 times in honor of Chris Nolan that third act won't suck so bad.
Begins loses in the third act because the credibility dies out. Begins first two acts were very human and very personal. The last act squanders these gifts with utter silliness and an acute loss of reality. Batman releases a shitload of bats to escape from the police... yeah.... then a stormtrooper hands Crane a mask and says "time to play" Oooh!! Cheese. Goofy shaky cam fear drugs making "okay we det it they're poor" gothamites into Shawn of the dead rejects? Check. How about a ridiculous scene where Scarecrow shows up on a hirse without any purpose? Yep, got that too. Bad acting job by kid actor? Yep. Katie Holmes? Yep. God-awful set design for the Gotham slums? And how!Now here comes flying Batman. Fuuuuuuuck. Jim Gordon in the Batmobile lying down inside the transformer Batmobile and firing missiles? Are you fucking serious? And more flying Batman... ugh.
"Actually, no I take that back. Your mother isn't overrated. She's just as good as everyone says she is." I don't know your mother personally, but I'm sure she'd be ashamed of you for remarks. I, personally, am sorry for her insomuch as she has to raise a fucking douchebag such as yourself. Eat shit and STFU. Go ruminate on how cool and logical Gordon's explanation of escalation was. And Messi, that Rahs reveal was lame... particularly if you read the comic and knew Ducard was rather clearly Rahs.
