Holy Dat Phan, I love “Last Comic Standing,” but I’d love it so much more if the show’s producers would cast the 10 funniest people auditioning. Dan Naturman was easily the funniest guy in the final 20, and for him to lose his spot to the likes of Ant is pretty fricked up.

Now arrives these rumors that Dave Mordal, easily the star – if not technically the winner – of last year’s edition of “LCS,” has had his comments deleted from the “LSC” Web site, reportedly because he disparaged the eminently disparagable Ant.

Here’s a typical email on the subject:

Hey Herc, thought you may want to include this on your next report on Last Comic Standing. It seems that the conflict and drama caused by last week's ep didn't end with the "judges" and contestants. At the beginning of the show NBC's website had a link on the LCS subsite to rants by LCS 1 alumni Dave Mordal, rants that are now inexplicably gone. In Dave's first op-ed piece he blasted Ant's success in making it to the semi-finals. Dave was angered by the fact that Ant has had a whole year since LCS 1 and still has no material and was quite confused at his being chosen. So right out of the box we find out that Dave isn't happy with the way season one has begun. So I don't think it's that big of a logic leap to assume that Ant making it into the house pissed him off something fierce. Now, not only is there no week two rant, but week one's rant has been deleted. Guess Dave's as fed up as Drew Carey and Brett Butler.

Is this true? Man, I would have loved to read Dave’s takes on what’s going on with this show. Come on, NBC, you’re better than that! Don’t bottle up the brilliant Mordal!
