Updated with info on BATMAN special DVD, SUPERMAN, BLADE RUNNER, JAWS, PHANTOM MENACE DVD Coming September 12'

Hey folks, Harry here with an update on this rumor.... Here's the latest plus confirmations from someone in the know... plus the BATMAN special edition.

Hey Harry, Drayven here coming to you from the Pork Chop Express. This is regarding your story on the Phantom Menace DVD. I work in Portland Oregon, Home of green trees, a lot of pot and some freaking weird cults, but there is one thing I do know. The company I am employed by does a lot of DVD selling (Deleted to protect company) and we are very much in the loop on most happenings of the DVD titles. I can say with pinpoint accuracy that the Phantom Menace has absolutely NO release date. Official or otherwise. The last we heard on this was just what you have, the "I'm not going to release this until the other two" crap. I can say, that the article you ran regarding Jaws, Superman, and Blade Runner are true. As well as (on a much much lesser scale, A Special Edition of Batman is being prepared. This will feature only two Deleted Scenes (one with the Joker in a radio station (?) as well as two theatrical trailers and commentary by Tim Burton and Michael Keaton, we have a release date in October for this. Just to let you know.

Keep on TRuckin,

Drayven

Hey folks, Harry here. We know that Lucas has claimed that ILM is working on a DVD for STAR WARS: THE PHANTOM MENACE. However, Lucas also once claimed that the DVD wouldn't come out till after he's finished releasing the 2nd and 3rd chapters of his saga, so he could release a gigantic 6 film uber-boxed set with special whoopdeedoo extras and such. But... why would ILM be working on the DVD right now? Well, one reader walked into a Suncoast Video today and was told that on September 12th the Episode One dvd would be hitting shelves with tons of extras and a big ol suggested retail price. Was this the delusion of a half-fried brain of a stocker... or is it true? Well, if you are a retailer or are in the DVD chain of events... Can anyone confirm this? Personally, my rules say this is bullshit till we get confirmations from a half dozen other sources. So here's the letter.... Don't believe a word of it till later...

Hola Harry!

Just wanted to drop this little nugget of info. I went to Suncoast today and the employee there mentioned that the Phantom Menace DVD should be out Sept. 12, and that it will have deleted scenes, story board comparisons, and 3 different audio tracks including commentary by Lucas. There are other extras also, but I forgot what they were.He said the price was going to be $39.99.

See ya,

Double Down
