Wow... American McGee's ALICE actually happening with Gellar and Nispel!

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with some interesting news on American McGee's ALICE. If you remember a long while ago Wes Craven was developing the project. I've even seen Craven's uncut CURSED and having seen that I'm kinda glad this project is out of his hands. I think he may need some time to sit back and gain some distance from the studio system.

According to Variety Marcus Nispel (TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE remake) is helming the project and Sarah Michelle Gellar is starring. I'm not the world's biggest fan of the CHAINSAW remake. For a movie that was trying so hard to be the real deal, the real horror movie... it sure covered a lot of familiar ground... who survives? The virgin (or at least the one who refuses engage in sex or drugs). Who dies? The pot-smokers and fornicators... However, the movie looked fantastic and a fantastic visual style is definitely much needed in bringing American McGee's ALICE to the screen successfully. I do not envy Gellar having to shoot a movie with the man, who is notoriously goofy and difficult. I'm also not a Buffy fan, but Gellar doesn't make a bad Alice, however I loved that when Craven had the movie it was rumored that Natalie Portman was going to topline. If Craven in his NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET mode directed the movie with Natalie Portman starring... that would have been something to see. What do you folks think of the news?
