Hey folks, Harry here... I want this movie to be awesome. I want to be swallowed up whole while watching it. To believe 1000% in the world of Narnia. I know when I'm watching these Behind The Scenes sequences that I'm seeing all this attention to artifice... but I get zero sense of character work. I'm not given any particular feeling that the same level of microscopic care is going into any performance, emotional direction.... any of that. I mean, think about this Behind The Scenes feature we've been offered up. It is titled "THE DIRECTOR". At the end, you'd think it would be titled, "THE ART DIRECTOR" as that's all we're given. We're not seeing Andrew Adamson working with the Pevensie children. We aren't shown him talking to Tilda Swinton to direct her performance as the White Witch. There's no discussion about the emotional realism, just the surface of the film. This makes me a bit wary of the project. If this is all this director is worried about... the design of the film, then we'll get a really lush and empty film, but if he's doing it right, this will be a story that really resonates and leaves a mark on us as viewers. Having said that - this Behind The Scenes looks pretty enough. Here ya go...
