Paul Schrader's EXORCIST: THE BEGINNING headed to theaters in '05'!'

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with some exciting news. Rav is happy right now, wherever he is, because it seems that Paul Schrader's EXORCIST: THE BEGINNING is heading to theaters next year. For those that don't know, Paul Schrader got fired from the EXORCIST prequel for apparently not having enough jump scares or something in the film... after he shot it. So, they replaced Paul "I wrote TAXI DRIVER" Schrader with the obvious next in line: Renny "I'm sorry about DRIVEN" Harlin who reshot almost all the movie, even recasting some major characters. For instance, Izabella Scorupco's character didn't exist in Schrader's version. If you've seen the movie, that leaves a lot of the ending up in the air, don't it?

There was talk of both Harlin and Schrader's versions being released on DVD, but the DVD specs hit yesterday with no Schrader version anywhere in sight.

Well, the good folks at MovieHole contacted Morgan Creek about the bare-bones DVD and asked why Scharder's version was absent. This is what they heard back:

"Paul is currently in post-production on the movie, as we're anticipating a limited theatrical release here in the United States sometime in 2005"

Congrats to Moviehole for the scoop. Click here to read the whole bit!!
